Computer crashes randomly while playing Superpower 2

I'm sorry for joining up this forum for something like this.
But I'm running a Dell Inspirion 1300 (1.50G CPU, 512MB RAM, 128MB Intel-based Graphic Card). and Superpower 2 freezes the laptop (not just the game) randomly.

It might freeze the system when I open up the economics screen during tutorial, it might freeze when I try to choose a country in custom scenario, or it might freeze when I try to design a unit.

Considering that this laptop can run Guild Wars on full spec, I don't think the crash is due to weak processing/graphical power...

Any ideas on this?

Edit: Oh yeah, the game was fully (1.4) patched.

Edit: Oh yeah, the game was fully (1.4) patched.

Start with the basics. Make sure your audio and graphics drivers are up to date. Uninstall the game completely (delete folders and files manually), defrag, and then reinstall and re-patch. Make sure unnecessary background programs are terminated (if your systray looks like a small city, you're asking for trouble with anything you're running).

Also, if possible: post the contents of the Joshua_Client.txt & Joshua_Server.txt here. They're in the Dreamcatcher/Superpower 2/ directory.

Gah...I only have the logfiles after I installed MultiMOD, but please keep in mind that this happens all the time regardless of whether I installed any mods or not.

BTW, I'm updating my drivers, deleted the Dreamcatcher folder and defraging right now.
I hope this would work.

Goto multiplayer and select host and select make private. See if you have the same error and if so post the log.

Sorry for a late reply, I was away on vacation...
Anyway, it works now! XD
It does crash from time to time, but if I only run just the Superpower during the load-up, it doesn't crash at all.

Um..no, I don't think I can run it since I'm on Celeron M...:P
And I'm certain that not running any type of program that modifies the hardware, and I've checked the process list.

Well, that's why I said "like" I believe Intel has such a feature as well, and I think that most laptops use such a feature to preserve the battery, but I have no idea how Intel's is called.

Such features are usually found in the BIOS, where they can be enabled/disabled. If you're not afraid to go look in there, I'd try that.

Oh...I forgot to mention that I have a Celeron, which doesn't have any extra functions in the CPU...but it does have weaker cache memory than Pentium M.

The specs of the laptop are pretty shoddy, not to be mean. SP2 works better for people who have more RAM than 512. Thats almost minimum today anyway.
